Four months on, GHMC, Wakf Board keep mum
It has been close to four months since the issue of a notice by the Telangana State Minorities Commission (TSMC) on the demolition of Masjid-ek-Khana in Amberpet on May 1, to the CEO Wakf Board and the GHMC Commissioner. But both the departments are yet to respond on the issue.

Following a petition filed by MBT spokesman Amjedullah Khan with regard to the demolition, the TSMC in May issued a notice to the higher officials of the two departments.
"Since the matter is sensitive in nature, utmost care must be taken in dealing with the issue keeping in view the prevailing law and order issue. Send a detailed report mentioning the reasons as to how the land of Masjid and Aashoor Khana has been acquired and paid compensation without ascertaining the gravity of the situation and how the structures have been demolished without assessing the law and order problem," said the commission in its notice.
The notice also further emphasized as to how the Wakf property has been acquired by the GHMC for the widening of the road. The compensation was paid to third party, and the CEO of Wakf Board has played a role of a spectator till the demolition of Masjid and Aashoor Khana was completed. The CEO is directed to submit a detailed report in the matter immediately, it added.
Speaking to The Hans India, MBT leader questioned the delay in submitting the report over the matter. He pointed out that even after the commission's notices to the department head; there has been no report till now.
"The demolition of Masjid-ek-Khana hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslims. It is sad to note that even after three months, both the departments have failed to respond to the commission," he said.
