Highlights

GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar on Monday asked the flood victims not to visit Mee-Seva centres for Rs 10,000 financial assistance.

GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar on Monday asked the flood victims not to visit Mee-Seva centres for Rs 10,000 financial assistance.

He said that the government would deposit the flood assistance directly into the bank accounts of flood victims. "All those who are eligible for the flood aid will be recognized by GHMC teams who will inspect the flood-affected areas and collect the details of the flood victims. The amount will be credited into the account," he said asking the people not to queue up before the Mee-Seva centres.

It may be recalled that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the public meeting at LB Stadium before the GHMC election said that the flood-aid distribution will be resumed from December 7. The flood-aid distribution was stopped due to the election code.

With the CM's assurance, all the flood victims were seen turning up to the Mee-Seva centres today to get flood aid.
