GHMC to add more vets to address stray dog menace
To address stray dog menace in the city and to monitor the modern slaughterhouses, the GHMC has decided to appoint additional veterinary doctors.
Hyderabad: To address stray dog menace in the city and to monitor the modern slaughterhouses, the GHMC has decided to appoint additional veterinary doctors. This was stated by city Mayor Bonthu Rammohan at a review meeting on the maintenance of slaughterhouses and the construction debris recycling plants held here at the mayor office on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said that many modern slaughterhouses in the city, which were built with crore of rupees, are not being properly maintained due to lack of staff and veterinary doctors.
Therefore, it was decided that 30 more veterinary doctors would be appointed to improve the maintenance of slaughterhouses, he said. The GHMC has also decided to increase the remuneration for sterilization operation from Rs 100 to Rs 200 per dog, he said. The decision was taken after considering the remunerations paid in other Indian cities, he said.

The mayor instructed the police officials to ensure the security of 105 blocks of double bedroom houses, whose construction has been completed recently. He also said that the construction debris recycling plant being built at Jeedimetla would be inaugurated in July, and on the same day, the inauguration of new C&D plant construction at Fathullaguda would also be held.
