The 550th Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Yatra was flagged by TRS working president K T Rama Rao from Gurudwara Saheb here on Thursday.

Ameerpet: The 550th Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Yatra was flagged by TRS working president K T Rama Rao from Gurudwara Saheb here on Thursday.

Minister for Animal Husbandry T Srinivas Yadav, Telangana State Minorities Commission Chairman, Mohd Qamaruddin, Advisor to Government of Telangana on Minority Affairs A K Khan and others were present on the occasion.

The committee members presented Siropa (robe of honour) and Kirpan (sword) to the visiting dignitaries. A Nagar Keertan was taken out from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and passed through Punjagutta, Khairatabad, Lakdi ka pul, Abids, Koti and Putlibowli at 12.15 pm and proceeded to Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda and later moved to Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj at 4.30 pm and from their passed through Nayapul, Madina, Charmahal Gurudwara, Puranapul, Bahadarpura to Puratan Gurudwara Saheb Asha Singh Bagh, Sikh Chavani for night halt.

On September 7, yatra will start from Gurudwara Saheb Baram Bala Sikh Chavani at 7.30 am and will proceed towords BHEL, Patencheru, Sangareddy and yatra will culiminate at Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Bidar in Karnataka at 2 pm on Saturday. During the four days, yatra nagar keertans, vishal deewans, gatka skills, religious processions and other special bands and other programmes will be held.
