Chanchalguda: After photos and videos of Haj arrangements in the ongoing pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia went viral on social media, activists and politicians have strongly criticised lack of basic amenities to thousands of Hajis who appeared to be crowded in a small place without proper accommodation and bathrooms.

Some of the activists tweeted by marking #tag to most of the authorities in Telangana. They wondered if these were services which were being boasted by the TS Haj House and the State government after paying hefty amount. "No facilities for Hajis. Harping on the sentiments it was like making business.

Around 6,000 people went through Haj House, Telangana, and see their condition, as there are no washrooms, no medical assistance, no rooms for staying, but the authorities were charging huge amounts," tweeted one of the activist. Meanwhile, MBT spokesman Amjedullah Khan took up the issue and endorsed the view

of a Haji who wrote to the TS Haj House CEO that the Hajis were facing many difficulties, as there was no proper accommodation in Mina. "Water is entering tents and all mattresses and pillows are getting soaked and people are facing difficulties, without proper food," pointed out one of the Hajis.

"When you can't manage food and accommodation, why the hell you take allotments of so many people? I wouldn't recommend Haj Committee to anyone. I was very happy when my name got selected in the Azizia category of Haj Committee, but to my dismay things were just opposite. When I reached in Mina, I realised that I had fallen to the trap of this money-making committee. Yes it's like roadside labourers stay," the complainant adds.
