Heavy rush witnessed at liquor shops
Many purchased large quantities of liquor as the shops would remain closed for the next three days. Stocks which were supposed to last for a week were sold off in couple of hours as people thronged the liquor shops. Some latecomers who came after shops were closed at 5pm expressed their dissatisfaction at early closure.
Musheerabad: Long ques were formed before liquor shops in the city as the shops were being closed at 6 pm on Tuesday evening for three days in view of Parliament elections. People thronged liquor shops from 2 pm on Tuesday and long ques were found at every liquor shop in Musheerabad assembly segment. While the shops were scheduled to be closed at 6 pm, the local excise department instructed the local liquor shops to close by 5 pm.
