The residents are worried about increase of mosquitoes because of the hyacinth. They express ire over the contractor's lethargic attitude in removing the debris. They also blame officials concerned and people's representatives for not taking any action against the contractor.

Kranthi, a resident, expressed concern over people in the vicinity falling sick because of the unpleasant atmosphere. Hari Babu, another resident, questions the purpose of removing hyacinth from tank in the first place. People residing in Yerragunta, Ambedkar Nagar and Yerakula Basthi urge officials to come to their aid and ensure the issue is solved.
