The Cyber Crime police registered case against film critic Kathi Mahesh for passing derogatory comments on Hindu Godess. Based on the complaint of one Umesh Kumar, the police registered cases under Section 505(1)(c) and 502 (2) of the IPC.

Mahesh passed the comments against Lord Rama at an anti-CAA event organised in Osmania University last week and a video of his speech has been widely circulated and landed him in trouble.

Umesh said that Kathi Mahesh demeaning to Lord Rama would disrupt harmony and peace in the society. The police also found the comments objectionable during an investigation and filed a case against him.

Another complaint was also lodged case Kathi Mahesh by a city-based lawyer and president of Hindu Sanghatan K Karuna Sagar. He stated that Mahesh has made derogatory comments against Hindu God and the religion.
