Hyderabad: While appreciating the Cabinet decision to pass resolution in Assembly against CAA, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) requested the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to also reconsider taking up National Population Register (NPR) along with Census in the State.

JIH State President Hamid Mohammed Khan said that as the census would begin in the month of April, the Chief Minister should take personally stock of the situation and clear the doubts of the common man about censes and NPR, as common people were perplexed, he pointed.

Khan appreciated the move of Telangana Government to vote against CAB both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. But he called upon the State government to make clear its stand on NPR and NRC. He demanded that the government move the Supreme Court under Article 131 against the implementation of CAA by the Centre.
