Nizampet: The Bachupally police on Thursday conducted an awareness programme on attacks against women at Bachupally Narayana Girls School. They attributed the increasing attacks on women to lack of awareness among the latter on the laws protecting them.

Police personnel, including DCP (SHE Team) S Anasuya, ACP Kukatpally S Surender Rao, Bachupally CI V Jagdishwar laid emphasis on the importance of students and women becoming aware of the laws and legal set-up. They said at times of duress 'Dial 100' should be used so that the police could reach the spot in 3-5 minutes. Hawkeye application should be downloaded so that the vehicle being used by women could be linked to the control room.

This will enable the women to reach their destination safely. The police officials advised women to use police assistance numbers like 100, 108, 101, 1090, 112, 1098. They informed that to ensure safety of women Cyberabad Police Commissioner V Sajjanar had constituted a SHE team and a women and child safety wing.
