Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police are conducting a special drive against the vehicles which are using the police, army, navy, press sticker on their personal two and four-wheeler vehicles.

This is being done to prevent the misuse of such stickers, which are very common amidst people who use these fake designations to slink off from some situation. As a result, there has been a rise in private vehicles sporting such stickers in a bid to evade penalties for a minor offense.

There is an increase in the number of cases where such vehicles are seen parked in no-parking zones. These stickers are easily available in the market for as low as Rs 15, allowing anyone to paste it on the windscreen of the cars or motorcycle's mudguard or number plates.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, Traffic Additional DCP Amarkanth Reddy said, "There have been many instances where fake people have used these stickers to slink off from situations.

In the month of April, we did a similar drive against the vehicles which are using the police sticker on their vehicles and around 147 stickers were removed by the traffic officers. Similarly, the traffic officials don't particularly refrain from penalizing such vehicles but if Hyderabad Traffic Police officers come across any such vehicle in the city, the officer has been instructed to remove the sticker from the concerned person's vehicle."
