Hyderabad: NVS Reddy, the managing director of HMRL, and V C Sajjanar, the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, flagged off dedicated shuttle bus services of Microsoft from Hi-Tec City Metro station to Microsoft campus on Thursday in the presence of Microsoft Vice President Rajiv Kumar and L&T MRHL managing director KVB Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, NVS Reddy stated that already 20 IT/ITES companies have introduced shuttle services from Hi-Tec City and Durgam Cheruvu stations to their respective campuses. They include Value Labs, Epam, Invesco, Verizon, Cambridge, ICICI Bank, Novartis, Hexagon, etc. He mentioned that L&T MRHL is also running "merry-go-round" services from Durgam Cheruvu and Hi-Tec City Metro stations in Gachibowli and Financial District areas and that these shuttle services are becoming very popular. He also noted that with last mile connectivity slowly emerging, Metro ridership is steadily going up and that daily about 2.5 lakh passengers are using Metro Rail services.
Stating that Microsoft has an abiding commitment to environment sustainability, Rajiv Kumar observed that introduction of shuttle services would benefit employees and also reduce traffic congestion in this area. Appreciating the initiative taken by L&TMRHL and the pro-active policies of HMRL, Sajjanar made an appeal to other companies to run similar shuttle services to reduce traffic congestion in Cyberabad area. KVB Reddy informed the gathering that several IT/ITES campuses were making bulk purchase of Metro Smart Cards and those interested may contact Rishi Verma of L&TMRHL on 994915833.
L&TMRHL COO Anil Kumar Saini, HMRL CEE DVS Raju, SE Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, GM B N Rajeswar, DCP A Balakrishna, Cyberabad DCP Vijay Kumar and other senior officers of HMRL, L&TMRHL and Cyberabad Police participated in the programme.
