In order to help farmers, the State government has initiated steps to provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the produce.

Vikarabad: In order to help farmers, the State government has initiated steps to provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the produce. As part of this, 27 paddy procurement centres (PPC) are being set up in the district.

The Civil Supplies Department is making all arrangements to provide MSP to the farmers and in this connection, 11 paddy procurement centres are being set up through IKP, another 14 centres through DCMS and two centres through PACS.

The 11 centres, which are arranged under IKP are at Bomraspet, Metlakunta, Nagireddypalli, Yerpumalla, Pedda Nandigama, Daultabad, Nandaram, Balampalli, Kalepalli, Kulkacharla, Tharur.

The 14 centres, which are arranged under DCMS are at Kulkacharla, Doma, Dadapur, Parigi, Yalal, Lakshminarayanpur, Narsaur, Mambapur, Tandur, Bashirabad, Husnabad, Thimmaipalli, Juntupalli, Nagaram.

Paddy procurement centres at Kodangal and Daulatabad are set up by PACS. Apart from arranging procurement centres, the officials are taking necessary measures to contain malpractices. In this connection, steps are being taken to prevent brokers in the process.

The procurement centres and rice mills have been geo-tagged. Through this, officials will know whether the procured paddy is reaching the rice mills or getting diverted to other places. Even the geo-tagged vehicles also reveal the movements of vehicles.

Tight security has been arranged at the warehouses, where the procured paddy is stored. By taking such steps, officials expressed confidence that they could prevent irregularities from taking place and benefit the farmers.
