Tarnaka: The Osmania University unit of Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) organised an iftar party at the ICSSR guest house on Saturday. Iftar was preceded by a discussion on "Annihilation of Caste and Oneness of God".

Students Islamic Organization of India-OU unit president Syed Ghayasuddin addressed the gathering on the future of casteless society, the standard of 'Oneness of God' which would prove fruitful, as people who were created to be equal by the One God cannot discriminate against one another on the basis of 'birth.'

SIO Telangana chapter president Dr Talha Faiyazuddin insisted that the competitive spirit inherent in man shouldn't let humans to create groups and dominate weaker groups. Dr Anjaneyulu, executive member, Centre for Dalit Studies, said that Muslim-Dalit unity was the need of the hour, and that he had been fasting this Ramadan to show solidarity with Muslims.

About 250 students participated in the Iftar gathering. Iftar was followed by the Muslim students offering their Maghrib prayers in the lawn of the guest house.
