Yousufguda: Residents of Maruthi Nagar are worried over the unhygienic condition at the colony parks and are concerned over the rising foul smell emanating from open nala behind the park. Several Colony parks in the area are in dire need of attention, say residents.

The common problem in every park is untrimmed bushes, unattended garbage, broken pathways, broken benches and poor illumination. "To maintain colony parks properly several times we have complained to officials concerned; once again we will make a representation to Deputy Commissioner Ramesh and will try to solve the issue," said Naveen Yadav, colony leader and MLA contestant from Jubilee Hills.

"The lights in the park at Ganpati Complex in Yousufguda are not working for the past four months and they need to be replaced immediately," said Mithul, a resident.

"The condition in our colony has become worse, there is not a single park for children in the area except Krishna Kanth Park at Yousufguda. While the colony parks, which are built for walking is occupied by street dogs and anti-social elements, the park at Maruthi Nagar is serving no one," said Kiran, an MBA student.

Mrudula, a local, said, "There is no cleanliness inside the park as it is not in use. It opens once in a blue moon. As there are no other parks available in the neighbourhood, it would be useful if this park functions properly."
