The APSRTC has secured two national awards at the 63rd Association of Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) held in New Delhi on Tuesday. The awards were presented by Sanjeev Ranjan, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), New Delhi to the APSRTC MD NV Surendra Babu.

Vijayawada: The APSRTC has secured two national awards at the 63rd Association of Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) held in New Delhi on Tuesday. The awards were presented by Sanjeev Ranjan, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), New Delhi to the APSRTC MD NV Surendra Babu.

The Vijayawada City Operations won the award 'ASRTU Highest Performance in Vehicle Productivity Award' for showing high performance in vehicle productivity (for efficient kilometres driven by vehicle per day)

The other award 'ASRTU Highest KMPL Award' was received by APSRTC Visakhapatnam for the best KMPL capacity in (3000 buses category). The APSRTC MD expressed his delight on winning the awards and congratulated the concerned officers and the workforce for the achievement.

He recalled that in the year 2014-15, APSRTC won four national awards, in 2016-17 two national awards and two awards for the current year, he added. The MD was accompanied by executive director (admin) A Koteswara Rao, the then Vijayawada zone executive director PV Rama Rao, Visakhapatnam regional manager G Sudesh Kumar and others.
