Guntur: Police told to conduct checks for drunk driving

Guntur: Guntur district Superintendent of Police K Arif Hafeez directed the police officials to conduct drunken driving checks and register cases. He made a surprise visit to Guntur West Traffic Police Station on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he asked the officials to take steps to check the road accidents.

He enquired about the cases registered in the traffic police station and asked the police officials to conduct counselling for their parents of minors and create awareness of the consequences of minors driving vehicles.

He instructed the officials to conduct meetings and create awareness of the traffic rules and directed the traffic police on duty to be careful. He asked the officials to book cases against those who are not following traffic rules and added that the traffic police on duty at night should wear police jackets.
