Vijayawada: Vijayawada Division bagged six efficiency shields for its best performance during the year 2019-2020 in South Central Railway.
A total 33 employees from different departments of the Division bagged individual awards for their meritorious and dedicated services along with one group award at the zonal level. The awards were announced on the of the 65th Zonal Level- Railway Week Celebrations on Wednesday.
The six efficiency shields bagged by the division under various categories are as follows: General Manager shield for Cleanliness (Stations), Mechanical, Finance (Accounts), Civil Engineering, Best Maintained Running Room and Hindi Raja Bhasha.
The awards were announced during the South Central Railway celebrations held at the zonal level across six divisions on Wednesday. Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR, was the chief guest.
Owing to the current pandemic situation, the Railway Week celebrations were held virtually through live link across all the divisions. All the meritorious employees of the zone were awarded at their respective locations by PHODs and DRMs.
P Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada presented GM awards to all the employees of Vijayawada Division on behalf of Gajanan Mallya , DRM office, Vijayawada.
Generally, Railway Week celebrations are held annually during the month of April but due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, the event was celebrated on Wednesday. The GM congratulated the staff on winning shields.
G Sumana, ADRM (Operations), GR Sudheer Kumar, Sr DPO, E Santharam, Sr DEN/Coord., K Srinivas, Sr DME/C&W, RC Sahoo, Sr DEnHM and other officials were present on the occasion.
