Visakhapatnam: GITAM Deemed to be University has been ranked 80th in the country and also positioned in top universities (501-550) in Asia, according to the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world university rankings 2021.

The QS world university rankings have been announced after evaluating 5,500 universities worldwide. The parameters include academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, faculty student ratio, and proportions of international students and international faculty to assess the institution's strengths in research, teaching, employability and internationalisation.

GITAM Vice-Chancellor K Sivaramakrishna said, the institution will focus on preparing future-ready graduates who can thrive and contribute in a much more volatile environment. "We are happy that our efforts have been recognised and the institution scored the ranking among the world's top universities," he added.

The institution has today over 23,000 regular full-time students, about 1,200 research scholars and well over 90,852 students in distance mode hailing from almost all parts of the country. It offers 245 programmes at UG, PG and doctoral levels in various disciplines.

GITAM faculty is actively involved in consultancy projects offered by premier research institutions, corporate and government organisations. The Government of India has recognised GITAM as a scientific and industrial research organisation.
