Warangal: ABVP demands justice

Warangal: The onus is on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to intervene and make sure that the Telangana students get their allotted quota in medicine seats, ABVP State secretary Ambala Kiran said. Leading the protest at the administrative office of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), he demanded the government to take corrective measures with regard to the allotment of medicine seats.

"The varsity authorities made a huge mistake in the allocation of seats. As a result, Telangana students aspiring for medical seats were denied admission in medicine, while the non-local candidates from Andhra Pradesh made merry. The KNRUHS authorities, who colluded with a private agency, tweaked the admission process and earned crores of rupees," Kiran alleged. While the meritorious students from Telangana denied seats, the AP students had managed to secure seats in prestigious colleges like Gandhi and Osmania, he said.

He accused the varsity officials of not following the norms of the reservation process.

Kiran demanded the government to respond immediately and do justice to the Telangana students. He also demanded the government to suspend the vice-chancellor besides conducting re-counselling of seats

and threatened to intensify their agitation if the government

fails to do justice to the Telangana students.

The police foiled the bid of ABVP activists when the latter tried to lay siege to the KNRUHS administrative building. ABVP Kakatiya University president Madoori Sandeep and State joint secretary Punnam Venu were among others present.
