A farmer attempts suicide over not getting sanctioned loan in Mahabubabad
A farmer has attempted suicide by consuming pesticides as the bank officials were not disbursing the sanctioned loan.
Mahabubabad: A farmer has attempted suicide by consuming pesticides as the bank officials were not disbursing the sanctioned loan. This incident has taken place at Mahabubabad on Monday.
According to victim's family members, a farmer J Sarvan, who belong to Cheruvu Mundu Thanda in Kesamudram Mandal here in the district has sanctioned a loan of Rs 1.30 lakh from the government for the purchase of sheep's.
Regarding the disbursement of the sanctioned amount to his bank account, Sarvan is continuously visiting the bank from the last one and half year. Since then, the bank officials are not releasing the money by giving some reasons.
As usual, he went to IOB Mahabubabad branch on Monday and asked the officials over the loan amount. As there was no proper answer from the bank officials, Sarvan consumed the pesticides in the bank premises and attempts suicide.
The locals who noticed this has immediately informed to 108 ambulance and rushed to the hospital. The doctors who examined the farmer, have shifted to ICU as the position is said to be critical.
