BENGALURU/HUBBALLI: On Saturday, after being released from the Tihar Jail which is located in Delhi, the Congress leader DK Shivakumar had snapped at some of his own party men for holding a flag of JD(S) while welcoming him.

On social media, a video of Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah criticising Shivakumar for his behaviour has gone viral. In the video, Siddaramaiah is heard saying: "What kind of message is Shivakumar sending by holding a JD(S) flag? How can he do this when I am desperately trying to convince people that we have completely snapped ties with the JD(S)?"

Shivakumar, regarding the criticism of Siddaramaiah, had said, "Siddaramaiah has lots of love for me and I don't endorse the video."

Kumaraswamy defended the Congress leader by saying, "some of our party workers went to show their support for him". Still, it's a Congress party matter and I don't want to speak about it," Kumaraswamy said. But he hit back at Siddaramaiah for his comment that he is losing clout with Vokkaligas. "Siddaramaiah is purely secular and we, who had supported the Congress, are communal," Kumaraswamy sarcastically said.
