The new invention and conversion of the fourth-century "Jesus' wife papyrus" has reopened the conversation as to whether Jesus had a wife? The "Jesus' consort papyus" says, "Jesus said to them, 'My wife ...'" This invention is appealing in that it is the first Gnostic writing to overtly state that Jesus had a wife. While a couple of the Gnostic gospels stated Jesus having a close bonding with Mary Magdalene, none of them particularly state that Jesus was married to her or to anyone else. Eventually, it does not matter what the "Jesus' wife papyrus" or Gnostic gospels say. They have no right. They have all been established to be phonies discovered to build a Gnostic view of Jesus.

If Jesus had been wedded, the Bible would have informed us so, or there would be some explicit statement to that truth. Scripture would not be absolutely quiet on such a central issue. The Bible brings up Jesus’ mother, adoptive father, half-brothers, and half-sisters. Why would it abandon to state the truth that Jesus had a wife? Those who consider that Jesus was wedded are doing so in an effort to “civilize” Him, to make Him more common, more like each one else. People just do not wish to think of that Jesus was God in the flesh. Hence, they create and trust myths about Jesus being wedded, having kids, and being a common human being.
The other question would be, “Could Jesus Christ have been married?” There is nothing errant about being married. There is nothing errant about having sexual relations in wedding or marriage. So, in that manner, it is appreciable that Jesus could have been married and still be the sinless Lamb of God and Savior of the world. In unison, there is no biblical source for Jesus to wed. I personally believe that there is no point to debate. Those who consider Jesus was married do not believe that He was sinless. Getting married and having children is not why God sent Jesus. A man has to learn why Jesus came.
In sum, this invention is burdened with problems. This part is lesser than a business card, so we don’t know its context or even its genre. The fragment hasn’t been fully legitimated yet since no ink tests have been performed and some intellectuals are debating whether it may be a phony. Most notably, if it’s from the fourth century, it comes so long after the life of Jesus that it lacks of historical reliability. The expert who declared the judgment, Karen L. King of Harvard, has constantly harassed that the papyrus is not testimony that Jesus was married.
There’s no steadfast evidence Jesus had a wife, experts have anecdotal views about whether it would pose any theological problem if someway we exposed he had been married.
