Chandragiri: On Wednesday morning, a car was burnt up in fire on Chandragiri-Chittore highway near Royal College. Satyanaranana and his family who originally hail from Visakhapatnam were on their way to Kanipakam after they finished darshan at Tirumala.
When they reached near Royal College, they found smoke from the tyres of their car. When the driver opened the door to confirm what was wrong, the car got fired and gutted within no time.
Fortunately, nothing has happened to all those who were there in the car. Due to the heavy fire, the traffic was stuffed on the Chadragiri - Chottore highway for about 2kms. The fire rescue team from Tirupathi arrived at the spot and put off the fire. Mallikarjuna Gupta, the Cricle Inspector of police, reached the spot and controlled the traffic.
