Hyderabad: Shakuntala, more aptly known as Telangana Shakuntala passed way in the midnight on Friday (Early on Saturday). She was 63 when she breathed her last and suffered a stroke at her residence near Kompalli in the outskirts of Hyderabad. She was rushed to Narayana Cardiac Centre but to no avail.

 

The doctors over there declared that she was brought dead. She played the character artist role in many Telugu movies and was close to the audience as Telangana Shakuntala.

Her debut movie was Maa Bhoomi released in 1981. She became famous from the movie Gulabi. She brought a recognisation to Telanagna accent as far as movies were concerned. She acted in more than 70 movies.

 

Telangana Shakuntala (Telugu: తెలంగాణ శకుంతల) was a Telugu popular actress. She was known for her cruel villiany and commedian roles. She used to speak fluently in both Telangana and Rayalaseema accents very well in her roles. She was often called as the next Suryakantam. Telangana Shakuntala died at her residence in Kompally, in the hours after midnight on 14th June 2014. She suffered a heart attack at her residence and was rushed to Narayana Hrudayalaya, a popular heart hospital in Hyderabad. Unfortunately by the time she was admitted at the hospital, doctors declared her dead due to cardiac arrest.
