Hyderabad: The Tuesday’s Railway Budget for the financial year 2014-15 has disappointed many. Mostly the impact of the budget was seen in the stock market as the market witnessed a drastic fall in both Sensex and Nifty points.
Mostly, the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states were disappointed, as usual. The dream of making the Secunderabad railway station a world-class railway station turned to be a reverie. The Railway Budget contained a reference to 10 stations across Indian Railways being classified as world-class. But what are the ten stations in this list is still a matter of speculation.
For that matter, the Railway Ministry has already included Secunderabad station to be developed as a world-class station in the 2012 budget. Senior railway officials say that world-class railway station means more cleanliness, best–in-class facilities and services including escalators and lifts, increased response time and WiFi connectivity in the station.
Though Secunderabad was planned to be made the World-Class Railway station in as early as 2012, nothing has happened as of now. Even it has not moved a foot ahead.
