Iron rod falls from Metro bridge on biker, A 30-year-old motorcyclist had a miraculous escape when an iron rod from an elevated metro rail bridge fell on him near Uppal on Saturday.
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old motorcyclist had a miraculous escape when an iron rod from an elevated metro rail bridge fell on him near Uppal on Saturday. Police said Eshwar Prasad of Vanasthalipuram was on his way to his office when the accident occurred around 10 am near Uppal.
Passersby said a biker collapsed on the road after an iron rod fell on his head. Soon, locals and public gathered at the spot and called the police. Some of the irate motorists shouted at the workers on the bridge and demanded stoppage of work. The police came to the spot and took the situation under control. Police called the ambulance and sent the injured man to a nearby hospital.
The local complained that no precautionary measures were in place at the Metro rail works. They said similar instances happened earlier. Metro authorities were not available for comment.
