The four passengers and the driver escaped unhurt.

The driver of the bus, who noticed smoke coming out of the rear engine, alerted the passengers. All of them immediately got down the bus. According to police, the flames engulfed the bus very fast and gutted it completely. Police suspect that a short-circuit might have sparked the fire in the air-conditioned bus. The loss incurred due to the fire is said to be about Rs 16 lakh.
