The widely accepted definition of a politician is a person who is involved in influencing public policy and decision making. This includes all levels of the people in the political chain.

Politics is not just limited to governance through public office. Political offices may also be held in corporations. In civil uprisings, politicians may be called freedom fighters. In media campaigns, politicians are often referred to as activists. Whatsoever may be the case, but, often there remains a doubt whether all the politicians (who claim them so) could answer the following 6 questions without any sort of fumbling:

  • What is the purpose of a person to be a politician?
  • Which way a person can quote himself/herself is at the service of people?
  • Why there is a need to choose politics as the only means to serve people?
  • Where can the services of the politicians are palpably seen?
  • When do politicians feel themselves truly accountable to the people?
  • How do politicians serve the people?

Certainly, no common answers would be received. Of course, the common answers are not even solicited. Yet, there is a need to know how confidently the politicians would answer these questions.

Even after celebrating its 68th Independence Day, India is still accounted as a still developing country. Haven’t these 68 years been sufficient to turn India into a developed nation? India is a rich country with poor people. With an adequate planning and execution of the same, so much could have been achieved by now. But...!!

When every politician could able to have a proper and honest answers for the mentioned 6 questions, the day wherein India could be called as a developed nation is not so far away.
