The much-awaited meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao happened on Sunday afternoon in the presence of Governor of the two states, ESL Narasimhan. Although political observers are hailing the meet as a step in right direction, the rendezvous between the two warring CMs can be termed as anything but that.

Sources privy to what happened during the meeting feel that it was just a call of formality and nothing else.

While the media screamed out loud saying the two CMs will park their egos aside and iron out the differences in the best interests of their respective states, the outcome was nothing to write home about.
Post meeting, KCR painted a rosy picture to the citizens of his state saying all was well and a good start had been made in the direction of better ties between the two states. However, Naidu gave people a reality check saying the meeting did not mean end of problems and that several issues remained unsolved.
People in the know of things say that the two leaders made a courtesy call and refrained from speaking anything controversial. So, it's easy to infer that the issues remain unaddressed.
It now remains to be seen if the duo will make sincere attempts to mend ties and work towards welfare of people in the two states.
