Karimnagar: The Minister for Information Technology (IT) and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Rama Rao said that the TRS government is making efforts to rescue farmers from power crisis. He blamed previous state governments in united state for power shortage in Telangana.

Taraka Rama Rao made these remarks after performing ‘bhoomi puja’ to upgrade 132 KV sub-station to 220 KV sub-station on the outskirts of Peddur village in Sircilla mandal on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Taraka Rama Rao said that there are four 132 KV sub-stations in Sircilla Assembly constituency.

He stated that people were requesting for upgradation of 132 KV sub-stations to 220 KV sub-stations for long time because of low-voltage problem. He said that the state government would spend Rs 67 crore for upgrading sub-station so that quality power can be supplied to farmers.

He assured that the state government would resolve power shortage in the days to come. “State government would declare power holiday for one-day in a week to industries if required for supplying power to farm fields,” he added.

He stated that officials would take necessary measures for completing tender process. He said that intensive household survey taken up on Tuesday was successful.
