As part of promoting eco-friendly clay Ganesh idols for upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi festival, National Green Corps (NGC) undertook a novel initiative of presenting clay idols to some of the TRS Ministers on Wednesday. School children, who are part of NGC, presented Ganesh idols to Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah, Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and others.

Rajaiah congratulated the NGC students for taking up the campaign and felt that safe environment with clean water resources and green surroundings were pivotal for keeping good health.

Meanwhile, Etela stated that his government would promote the green concept in a big way in future and support all campaigns of NGC for conservation of natural resources and protection of environment. “We appreciate the role of children and youth in these campaigns and they are our present and future,” he added.

"I am so happy that NGC children have taken pain to come to Secretariat and gift me the clay idol. I wish them a green future,” said Naini. On the other hand, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma wanted that these campaigns to be sustained with extensive public outreach.
