It is learnt that among many others, P. Narayana, one of the two Deputy Chief Minister of the state and municipal administration minister, is also interested in setting up a private university to add to his educational conglomeration.
In the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh too, the then governments had also considered enacting legislations to allow setting up of private universities. Even specialist committees were also formed but to no avail. However, the recent moves strongly give us the indication that the bill will be tabled in a day or two.
