Naidu asked the DMRC principal advisor to finish both the projects within three-and-a-half years apart from preparing a feasibility report for a rail-based mass rapid transit system.

The State government has also proposed a metro rail project for Tirupati. However, the Tirupati metro rail project will be taken up once the Visakhapatnam and VGTM projects are completed.
