What if the politicians are not aware of rules?
Getting elected to a legislative body may be an easy issue, if a person is offered ticket by the trendy political party and with the astute use of the personal influence. But, the same may obscure the image of self as well as the legislative institute, if the people’s representatives are not aware of at least the basic rules.

Knowingly or unknowingly the leaders commit mistakes in the legislative institutions, which certainly pose a question on the eligibility of the candidates getting elected.
According to Section 228 (A) of the Indian Penal Code, the name or disclosure of the victim’s identity in rape related offences is strictly banned and is considered as illegal. Also, the ibid IPC code states that those infringing the rule shall be punished with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to a fine. Yet, there are some instances wherein the politicians commit mistakes.
In a key faux pas, Nimmakayala China Rajappa, one of the two Deputy Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and in-charge of home affairs, on Monday (September 1, 2014) named a rape victim in the AP Legislative Council and also let slip the full details that included her husband’s name, occupation, age and caste.
In the official proceedings of the state council, all have been recorded. Astoundingly, no member of the council has objected the same. It surely raises a doubt whether nobody in the council knows the rules or even if they know they kept mum. In either case, indubitably, it’s a great error of judgment.
Also, in a similar incident, on March 1, 2013, the then Union home minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, had named a victim of a rape incident in Rajya Sabha, which was obliterated at the intrusion of the then Leader of Opposition, Arun Jaitley. Following this, Shinde had apologised to the Rajya Sabha. But, in this case there was someone to oppose, at least.
Similar cases of violation of various rules have happened and are happening and for sure they will happen. Yes, this is the problem and what is the solution? For every problem there is surely some solution. Even for this problem there will be a definite solution, if considered it as a great problem and worked towards the same. For example, there should be a mandatory training programme before the commencement of the first session for all the politicians who get elected to the legislative institutions. Is this not needed? Just think!!
