Hyderabad:The Pratyush Sinha Committee which met in New Delhi on Tuesday did not make any changes to the provisional list of All India Service (AIS) officers which it had released on August 22 allocating IAS, IPS and IFS officers to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Though Tuesday’s meeting was supposed to be the final meeting, it is now learnt that the committee will be meeting again with DOPT (Department of Personnel and Training) officials before finalising the list, based on the feedback and objections it had received from the officers. The committee had received a flood of requests for cadre change and cadre swap. Some AIS officers, who had claimed nativity in Andhra Pradesh were allocated to the other state and vice versa. Such officers want to swap through mutual understanding.

A total of 166 officers were allocated to AP and 128 to Telangana. Of this, 53 AIS officers allocated to AP want to opt for Telangana cadre and about 30 officers allocated to Telangana are keen to join the AP cadre.

However, the committee felt that any decision on changing the cadre of individual AIS officer rests solely with the Central Government, or more precisely, with the DOPT. The three-hour meeting was attended by the Chief Secretaries of AP and Telangana, I Y R Krishna Rao and Rajiv Sharma respectively.

In the provisional list, some couples were not allotted to the same State. Even this issue did not figure in Tuesday’s meeting which focused more on the broader guidelines to divide the officers, rather than individual cases, sources said.
