New Delhi: Liquor has been banned at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad where a trainee IPS officer drowned in a swimming pool after a party five days ago. "It is hereby ordered that no liquor will be served in the officers club of SVP National Police Academy. It is also directed that hereafter no liquor will be served at any official function of the Academy," Director of SVPNPA Aruna Bahuguna wrote in an order. The order was issued a day after Manu Mukt Manav, the IPS trainee, drowned in the swimming pool of the Academy in Hyderabad on August 28 night.
