Speaking to the media here, Sivadasan said that the Gujarat government with Narendra Modi as Chief Minister had introduced special syllabus for teaching moral values based on one religion. This had hurt the sentiments of the students belonging to other faiths, he said and wanted the Modi government to withdraw such moves.

He said that the budget allocation was reduced 6 per cent for the scholarships given to the students for pursuing higher education. He said that Narendra Modi government was keen in allocating Rs 200 crore fund for the establishment of Sardar Patel statue in Gujurat, neglecting the allocation of funds for midday meal scheme in the country. He criticised that NDA government was working for the benefits of corporate sector, leaving the benefits of poor and middle class families.

The SFI State secretary Nooru Mohammad demanded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to withdraw his decision of permitting private universities across the State.
