Hyderabad: Union minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said all steps would be taken for the renovation of the damaged Raghavendra Swami Mantralayam in Kurnool district. The majority portion of the holy place has been washed away in the 2009 floods that wrecked havoc in Rayalaseema region and parts of Telangana.

While seeking the blessing from the pontiff Subudhendra Teertharu Swamy of the Raghavendra Mutt in the city, he assured the mutt members that the AP government would lend all support in the revival of the Mantralyam very soon. All civic amenities would also be provided on the premises in the wake of increasing the number of pilgrims visiting the Mantralayam.

The Minister also responded positively to the demand for the allotment of five acres of land in the new capital city of AP for the construction of a Kalyana Mandapam and another mutt. Telangana BJP unit President G Kishan Reddy and other leaders were also present.
