Asked to strive to secure power

Warangal: BC Welfare Association Telangana State president Jajula Srinivas has called upon the members of backward communities to come together to secure power.

He asked them to make collective efforts to come to power by winning in 2019 general elections. He said the work should begin immediately and it continued until securing political power.

Srinivas addressed the BCs at a seminar organised by the association on the topic ‘Our State-Our Rule’ here on Monday. He said the backward communities constitute about 50 percent of the total population.

But they were always kept away from the power. No political party was ready to give the BCs their due share in the power even after six decades passed since the independence, he lamented.

Hence the BCs should make efforts to come to power on their own, he suggested. Referring to the TRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said, it was being run on feudal lines and except the CM and his family no others have the real power.

Srinivas demanded that the state government should prepare a BC Sub-plan allocating Rs. 20,000 crore for the all-round development of BCs. The BC government employees should be given reservations in job promotions.

Earlier addressing a press conference, the BC Welfare Association leader demanded the state government to initiate immediate measures to clear uncertainty over fee reimbursement and scholarships.

He asked the state government to release funds for clearing pending scholarships and fee reimbursement.

BC Welfare Association district president V Venugopal Goud, state leaders EV Srinivasa Rao, P Somaiah, P Srinivas, district leaders D Mallaiah, B Vinod Kumar, T Sampath Kumar, M Kedarinath, M Nagaraju, S Shoba Rani and others were present.
