Hyderabad: As many as three IAS officers will be swapped between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. According to the sources, the two State governments have arrived at a decision to interchange three IAS officers, after the final allocation of IAS officers.


It is evident that Somesh Kumar, the GHMC Commissioner, who played a crucial role during the Intensive House Hold Survey-2014, has been allotted to Andhra Pradesh. From the other end, AP industrial and commerce department’s principal Secretary J.S.V. Prasad and AP Transco chairman and managing director Ajay Jain, who are presently working in Andhra Pradesh, were allotted to Telangana.



It is learnt that Rajeev Sharma, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, held discussions with his counterpart I.Y.R. Krishna Rao on the very matter. In view of the respective state governments’ interest Somesh Kumar may be retained by the Telangana, while J.S.V. Prasad and Ajay Jain will be working in Andhra Pradesh.


Also, Ajay Sahani, who is presently working as principal secretary in AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s office (CMO), has been allotted to Telangana. It is not clear whether the AP government will ask the Telangana government to send him on deputation.

It is evident that the final list of All India Service officers will be announced soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives his nod, which is expected by this week.
