Accuses him of nepotism

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party on Monday alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conspired to close down all the Public Sector Units (PSUs) and allot them to his associates at throwaway prices. Addressing the press here, party senior leader and MLA G Srikanth Reddy said the government already initiated process to shut the PSUs, particularly sugar factories by issuing government orders clandestinely.

“Government also constituted a committee with members who are very close to Naidu. Two of them are the owners of a sugar factory, one in Andhra Pradesh and the other in Telangana State. The third one represents a Chartered Accountancy firm which is closely associated with NTR Trust,” he said.

This made Naidu's intention very clear, the committee would give a report in favour of the closure or selling out as he has done in the past, Reddy said adding that Naidu has the dubious distinction of closing down 54 PSUs against the national figure of 84 in the process of disinvestment during his rule between 1996- 2004. The YSRCP leader alleged that Naidu’s son Lokesh has become an extra-constitutional authority.
