A two-day Seva Mela would be held in the city at Hitex on October 4 and 5. The event aims to bring together people from the twin cities to celebrate Dasara and Bakrid, by sharing their joy with the underserved, in a meaningful way.

The event organised under the aegis of Daan Utsav -- India’s festival of giving -- is free and open to all. People can take the opportunity to visit stalls set up by NGOs and understand their activities. People can contribute whatever they can afford to the underprivileged.

Corporates may also visit the event to get an understanding of different services being offered and may choose to support it through their CSR activities. Starting at 10 am on October 4, the mela would be open to the public till 8 pm. The event would have food stalls and an array of entertainment programmes such as small skits, plays, dance and music programmes would be performed by beneficiaries of NGOs and volunteers.
