Odds favour KKR

Hyderabad: The climatic stages of Oppo Champions League-2014 (CLT20) will begin at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS), which will host both the semifinals here on Thursday.

In the first match, slated for 4pm, the team to beat, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will go into semifinals holding all the aces, including the psychological edge over Australian outfit Hobart Hurricanes.

Showing near-invincible form, the Gautam Gambhir-led IPL champions are in a strong position and well placed to book a spot in Saturday’s final. What comes in their favour is that the batsmen and bowlers have clicked during the course of the League structure. That is the best thing to happen, opines Gambhir who has insisted that his boys will not go in with any overconfidence.

This becomes more compelling because bowling trump card, Sunil Narine will be under the scanner after being reported for suspect action.

Although, he has not exactly led from the front, his task has been simpler with Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav coming up with incredible innings, which tilted matches in their favour from hopelessly lost situations. Hurricanes have not done badly considering that they have won three of the four matches.
