Employees presented with health cards on Wednesday

Hyderabad: Within a day after announcing unlimited health scheme to government staff and pensioners, the Telangana State government distributed health cards to kick-off the scheme on Wednesday.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah distributed cards to 59 employee leaders belonging to different Unions at a programme held at Secretariat in the evening. Speaking on the occasion, he said cards distribution would be completed by end of October. Employees could avail this scheme from November 1 onwards since all the formalities would be completed by then, he said.

Addressing a press conference earlier in the day, Rajaiah was furious with opposition parties for misleading public on dengue. No one in 10 districts died because of dengue, he stressed. The administration has taken necessary steps in Bhadrachalam, Utnur, Eturunagaram and other agency areas. Rajaiah warned private hospitals of stringent action if they resort to false medical practices in the name of diagnostic tests and treatment

No further talks with JUDA: Rajaiah
Replying to a query about impasse over junior doctors strike, Rajaiah stated in no uncertain terms that time for discussions was over. He felt the demand to scrap rural service was unethical.

“The government is ready to fulfill remaining four demands of the junior doctors,” he said appealing to them to join duties at the earliest.
