A free orientation seminar on ‘Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra’ will be held at the Hindi Mahavidyalaya, Nallakunta, at 5 pm on Sunday. Dr P Uma Venkatesh is organising the seminar.

The yatra is considered sacred and is undertaken as a pilgrimage by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. The Kailash Parvat and the Mansarovar are revered by almost all religions. In a way, the yatra signifies 'unity in diversity'. The seminar will address questions such as the need for the yatra, its significance, the requirements for the same, etc. “Many people dream of taking up the yatra but don't have knowledge about it.

The seminar will provide an opportunity for such people to know more about the same,” informed Dr Uma. The famous Mansarovar lake is situated at the base of Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva. 'Manas' means the mind and 'Sarovar' means lake.

The world's highest freshwater lake is seen as a symbol of Mother of the Universe, Mata Parvati. All those interested in taking the spiritual journey can contact Dr Uma on 9985380716.
