Hyderabad Hans readers make an appeal to authorities to look into their concerns

Hyderabad Hans readers make an appeal to authorities to look into their concerns

Cops looting crackers from vendors

On August 15 it was so encouraging to see the Chief-Minister unleashing a fleet of Innova cars and motorbikes, which was handed over to the police department. Unfortunately the cops are misusing these facilities. It was perceived that the police would go one step ahead and leave behind their cheap ways and habits. Many times we see constables rounding-up road-side hawkers and picking up stuff that hawkers obtain for a meagre income. I happened to click a set of constables picking a bag of crackers from a roadside stall set-up for Diwali. They left the stall without paying the bill. This picture was taken at Hanumanpet. I demand action against these constables. Don’t they get a salary? Don’t they get government facilities apart from a secure job? I urge the public to take such photos of these criminals in uniform and send it to the higher authorities so that action can be taken against them.-NB Stephenson, Safilguda

Need to check illegal constructions

Illegal constructions are being carried out behind the Sultan Nawaz Jung Masjid in Aghapura. We are facing severe problems because of this. I request the GHMC to look into the matter instantly.-Majid, Aghapura

Sanitary woes at Rashtrapati Road

The railway over bridge at Bible House on Rashtrapati Road, Secunderabad, always showers filthy water on those passing below whenever trains stops on the bridge. This has been a common affair for decades. The road users, particularly two wheelers and pedestrians, are forced to stop to avoid being sprayed by whatever dirt from above. Though the authorities fix the galvanised tin sheets underneath the bridge as a temporary measure to prevent sewage from falling down, it is not effective. Also, the spot beside the railway over bridge has a filthy public urinal and garbage is strewn around. The stench there is unbearable. Pedestrians, particularly women, flinch at the sight of people passing urine openly, which then spreads around the footpath area near the bridge. I hope that the South Central Railway and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) work together to fix the problem.-Md Aziz, Ranigunj

No response by traffic police

I have been relentlessly requesting the traffic department to implement rules strictly. The DGP had recently invited public complaints on Facebook. I had raised several issues. But so far, I have not received any response. Among other things, I had requested for a zebra crossing in front of Canara Bank at Abids. There is perennial traffic here and the public have to request commuters to stop to cross the road. I had also asked why speeding vehicles are not being checked--especially autos, scooters and buses. I hope the traffic police take note of these.-Andy Srinivas Rao, Abids

Failed transaction but amount deducted

I paid my electricity bill of Rs 194.94 on October 22 through my credit card. Though the transaction failed the amount was credited to my card. Now the bill is still unpaid and the amount is to be paid. I took up the issue with the Axis bank authorities and they said they would look into the issue. Till date no action has been taken. Delay in service

We bought a 40 - inch Toshiba LED TV at Bajaj Electronics at paradise on September 28. Till today, a Toshiba executive hasn’t come to install the TV. This is bad customer service. I need an explanation from the company for this woeful delay and a refund.-Suresh Pentam, Bowenpally

Unholy ads at temples

A huge billboard displaying ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ movie poster was erected recently just behind Lord Venkateshwara temple, Road No 12, Banjara Hills. The billboard itself is oddly positioned and advertising movies in such proximity to a holy shrine is detestable. I wish for the poster to be removed and if possible, the billboard, too.- PL Murari, Masab Tank

Certificate not issued

I had applied for physically handicapped certificate at the Gandhi Medical College a few weeks back. Ever since, I have made many trips to the hospital. The staff there is unresponsive and takes my travelling all the way for granted. They do not understand that for a person with one limb travelling without assistance is cumbersome. I request them to please do the needful and as early as possible.-Mukaddam Ramu, Alugadda Bavi
