Plot:

The film narrates the story of Venu (Mammootty) who returns to Kerala after working for a long time in the Gulf. He starts a finance company named Anand Finance, which becomes profitable soon due to his honest methods. The success of the company affects other companies, which leads many of Venu's friends to turn into his enemies. The rest of the story is about what happens to Venu and his family.

Asha Sharath, who played a tough police woman in Drishyam has turned a gossipping housewife in Varsham.

Ranjith Sankar says: “Venu is a typical Malayali leading a self-centred life,” said Sankar. “Nandini, his wife, is the snooty kind who loves to gossip. They have a son who is doing his plus two.”

It is a story that Malayalis will love as they can connect it to better.

The director revealed the content on his official page a few days ago. Ranjith Sankar wrote: "Varsham is a simple story which we have tried to narrate honestly. Please don't expect big twists and hidden surprises. What we have is the performances, right from Mammukka to every character. And of course, we have a story. We have tried to make it engaging to the best of our abilities."
