Rs.80-cr drinking water project launched, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen on developing Puttaparthi as a spiritual and tourist centre.

Puttaparthi: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen on developing Puttaparthi as a spiritual and tourist centre.
This was disclosed here on Sunday by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister N Chinarajappa while participating as the chief guest at the 89th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba at Sai Kulwant Temple here. He stated that the government planned to take up more welfare projects with the blessings of Sai Baba. The Deputy CM inaugurated Rs 80-crore project to provide drinking water to 116 villages in Bukkapatnam, Kothacheruvu and Puttaparthi mandals in Anantapuram district. He praised Sai for providing drinking water to interior villages in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, the Godavari districts besides Karimnagar and for offering health care and education to the poor.
Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala called upon the youth to take up welfare programmes, drawing inspiration from the jayanti celebrations of eminent persons. He released a souvenir brought out by the Satya Sai Trust.
Ministers Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Paritala Sunita, Government Whip Yaminibala, Collector Solaman Arogyaraj, DIG Balakrishna, SP Rajasekhar Babu, ZP chairman Chamansab, MP Nimmala Kishtappa, legislators Hanumanthraya Choudary, K Parthasaradhi, G Suryanarayama, former minister Dr J Geeta Reddy, Joint Collector Satyanarayana, Trust Secretary Prasada Rao and Member Ratnakar were present.
