BMW to launch M3 and M4 on November 27
German car manufacturer BMW will be launching two new sportscars in India, M3 sedan and M4 Coupe on November 27. The cars will be positioned in the upper spectrum of BMW’s portfolio of cars in India, and will accompany the M6 Gran Coupe and M5 in the ‘M’ range of performance-oriented cars of BMW.

The cars will be positioned in the upper spectrum of BMW’s portfolio of cars in India, and will accompany the M6 Gran Coupe and M5 in the ‘M’ range of performance-oriented cars of BMW. Both the M3 and M4 sportscars are targeted towards those people who love to drive themselves rather than being chauffeured in rear seat.
The M3 and M4 are essentially based on the 3-series sedan, which is already available in India. Though unlike the 3-series, both the M3 and M4 are proper sportscars with a more powerful 3.0 liter 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine under their hoods. This engine is wholesome enough to churn out 431PS of power and 550Nm of torque, which are sent to rear wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

Though for India, BMW has skipped the 6-speed manual transmission which is available in some of the other global markets. Both the cars can cross the 100 km/h from standstill in just 4.3 seconds, with the top speed electronically limited at 250 km/h.
Taking the sportscar credentials further, both the M3 and M4 employ the use of carbon fiber in their construction, to minimize the overall weight. Both the cars are properly equipped with electronics such as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Stability Clutch Control (SSC), three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus) and launch control function with paddle shifters, to fit the typical BMW tag of ‘sheer driving pleasure’.
The interiors of both the cars mirror that of the 3-series, save for few changes to dashboard trim and steering wheel. BMW will be bringing both the M3 and M4 as Completely Built Units (CBU), which may result in their ex-showroom price of around Rs 1-1.1 Crore onwards.
